SUPERBLY BUILT!
Custom designed by Gary Lidgard for the previous European owner's and their occasional guests for their world circumnavigation. The original design criteria called for seaworthiness and strength ( Hulls laid up to 200 mm above waterline, with 300 grms of kevlar /epoxy and 400 grms of double bias fibreglass/epoxy for almost bullet proof strength) and the ability to go anywhere on the planet, including to windward and to have fun sailing. She is setup to be single handed if required and is well proven after completing a 4 year world circumnavigation with her original owners and has now undergone an extensive 11 month professional refit completed in early 2024. The refit was managed and documented by a marine surveyor and includes new main engines, gearboxes and an upgrade of all essential machinery and systems ( electrical, plumbing, mast, rigging, running gear etc).
Due to an unforeseen change in circumstances the vessel is offered for sale at a fraction of the replacement cost and is truely ready to take her new owner's anywhere. "Sleipnir 3" will appeal to anyone who wants true sailing ability, appreciates build quality of the highest standard and understands the freedom that high quality, simple systems provide for remote area cruising.
For the lover of performance sailing, she does 7.1 kt in 8.1 kts of wind, she has 865 mm under bridgedeck clearance to minimize slamming, outboard steering stations that provide excellent vision of the sails and 360 degree vision of the horizon when on watch however on ocean passages the auto pilot does the work and there is a fully weather protected seated position under the hardtop for the watch keeper.
The fully equipped stainless steel topped galley is down aft in the port hull, front and top opening refrigeration amidships forward and within reach of the galley, and a guest double forward in the port hull.
The spacious owner's queen cabin is aft in the starboard hull, bathroom and separate shower forward.
